Nicholson Construction’s equipment repair and fabrication shop has recently hit a major safety milestone.
The shop, located in Cuddy, Pennsylvania, reached 1,000 days without a recordable injury, the equivalent of more than two and a half work years. The team at the shop is made up of 30 people, including mechanics, technicians, electricians, welder/fabricators, machinists and support staff.
On any given day, the shop team is installing instrumentation and automation systems, fabricating or modifying equipment and tooling required by operations, managing the inventory of supplies and repair parts that keep Nicholson’s projects and equipment running. In addition, they provide maintenance and emergency repair services for several hundred pieces of equipment and assist with job planning and setup.
“This is an achievement that takes a high degree of dedication to our company’s safety culture,” said Steve Scherer, President, Nicholson Construction. “We’re really proud of this team for all of the work that they do to support our jobs all over the country and for maintaining the highest levels of safety while doing it.”
