A massive addition to a historic facility on one of the country's most beautiful college campuses called for a design-assist to design-build solution that included both a permanent and a temporary support of excavation to support construction. The new addition to this 50-year old hallmark structure involved constructing on top of the facility's original spread footings and supporting the excavation for building the new space. The project required careful planning and sequencing, clear communication and strong teamwork to get it done in a tight timeframe.
