The new San Antonio Grand Hyatt Convention Center has 33 stories and is 525 feet tall, with 24 floors housing about 1,000 hotel rooms. To accommodate five levels of below-grade parking, Nicholson constructed a 98,000 square-foot anchored diaphragm wall to depths of 65. A total of 370 tieback anchors were installed. The thickness of the wall varied from 2.7’ to 4’ according with the design section.
