Background

When overpass foundations unexpectedly shifted during construction operations at the I-94/
Riverside Drive Interchange in Battle Creek, MI, an emergency response was needed to keep this important route open. In two days, Nicholson had designed a fix and was on site installing micropiles through the existing bridge foundations to prevent further movement. A total of 18 micropiles were installed. During micropile installation, the bridges were monitored in real-time with Sol Data’s Cyclops instrumentation system.
