Nicholson performed a variety of geotechnical construction techniques for this light rail tunnel project.
World Trade Center Transportation Hub, New York, NY
Nicholson installed 550 micropiles through, around and under the active New York City Transit Authority 1 and 9 subway line box to support the subway as basement-level construction was carried out 50 feet below.
Ground Treatment
- Cutter Soil Mixing Test Program, Miami, FL
Nicholson completed a test program consisting of 9,000 square feet of cutter soil mixed (CSM) wall.
- McCook Reservoir, Chicago, IL
Nicholson is constructing a 7,800-linear foot grout curtain around a new surface reservoir under construction for a combined sewer overflow (CSO) system.
- Miamitown Interceptor Sewer, Miamitown, OH
Nicholson designed and constructed a 29-foot-diameter access shaft with two rows of 59 overlapping jet grout columns.
- Michigan Street Pedestrian Tunnel, Grand Rapids, MI
Nicholson completed a chemical grouting program to support the construction of a 105-foot-long pedestrian tunnel.
