Nicholson's Rocky Mountain Team Joins Denver's Jackson Street Storm System Phase 2 Project
Nicholson’s Rocky Mountain team was recently awarded the Permeation Grouting contract for the Jackson Street Storm System Phase 2 Project in Denver.
The project is part of a series of continuing improvements that the City and County of Denver is making to mitigate persistent issues in neighborhoods in the Upper Montclair Basin, where much of the existing stormwater infrastructure dates back to the 1930s and is undersized to meet current demands.
The current phase of the project includes the installation of larger storm sewer pipes starting at the intersection of E 14thAvenue and Jackson Street.
Nicholson was awarded the contract by Iron Woman Construction and Environmental Services to stabilize the soil around the proposed twin 84” diameter sewer pipes to minimize erosion during tunneling.
“It’s always our goal to join projects that positively impact the communities we live in and work in, and as residents of the Greater Denver Area, this project fits that bill,” said Cody Telgheder, P.E., Operations Manager, Nicholson’s Rocky Mountain Region. “We’re looking forward to a great project in our backyard.”
Nicholson’s portion of the work will begin in December of 2023 and is expected to wrap up in February of 2024. The overall project is expected to be completed by January of 2025.
