Nicholson Awarded Deep Foundations Contract for the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center

PITTSBURGH – February 9, 2010 – Nicholson Construction Company has been awarded a contract to install deep foundations for the new Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center (Cleveland MMCC) in Cleveland, OH. On the project, Nicholson will install 67 drilled shafts to support the new exhibit hall and loading dock and 233 micropiles for the exhibit hall and ballroom. Nicholson will complete the work for Turner Construction Company, the project's design-build contractor.

Designed to bring buyers and sellers together, the Cleveland MMCC is the world's only facility targeted specifically to the medical and healthcare industries. The 235,000 square foot Medical Mart will house permanent showrooms for major medical manufacturers and service providers. The trade show facility will feature approximately 230,000 square feet of high-quality exhibit space and 60,000 square feet of meeting space. The one million square foot facility is expected to open in 2013.
