Ground Treatment
Ground treatment is accomplished by the addition of non-soil materials into the ground by means of grouting, either in rock or soil, or by mixing soil in place, thus improving the properties and characteristics of the ground. In general these processes are employed to strengthen the ground, decrease the compressibility/swell potential of the soil, or make the ground less permeable.
Nicholson initially began performing ground treatment work in the late 1970s when we completed mine subsidence void infill work throughout our home office region. In the 1980s we began dam foundation grouting and by the early 1990s offered most of the techniques we perform on a routine basis today. Nicholson offers the following ground treatment services:
Each of these techniques requires experienced designers, installers, and field supervision. Nicholson is uniquely structured to have such a team.
