Earth Retention Systems

Earth retention systems are constructed to provide support where excavations are made or slope stability is compromised.  The design of these systems must consider movement control, stability during construction and wall drainage.

Nicholson was one of the first contractors in the United States to install post-tensioned rock and soil anchors.  We built the first permanent anchored retaining walls in the U.S. in 1970.  In the early 1970s we completed the first three high-capacity dam anchor projects in the U.S.  Over the years we have completed many demanding and high profile projects and have made many technical contributions within the industry.  We offer design and installation of the following earth retention and slope stabilization systems using rock and soil anchors:

Each of these techniques requires experienced designers, installers, and field supervision.  Nicholson is uniquely structured to have such a team.
